Turkey may hold referendum on new constitution in early April - deputy PM

ANKARA: Turkey may dangle a referendum within the first week of April on a new constitution which would create an executive presidential machine, handing incumbent President Tayyip Erdogan better powers, Deputy top Minister Nurettin Canikli mentioned on Monday.

Parliament’s common assembly is as a result of begin debating the proposed constitutional changes in a while Monday and work on the package deal is anticipated to be achieved in 18-20 days, Canikli stated in an interview with A Haber tv.

The reform package is predicted to be authorized by means of parliament, through which the ruling AK birthday party has a powerful majority, and would then go to a referendum.
